O'Brien (upper body) signed a two-year contract extension Sunday.
O'Brien has averaged 9:25 of ice time, blocked 10 shots, delivered 131 hits, logged 106 PIM and generated three points over 37 games this season. The 27-year-old has missed the last three games while dealing with an upper-body injury. He will set his sights on returning for Tuesday's contest versus Detroit.
