For another, he’s taller by one whole inch, which may not seem like much generally but sure does mean a lot in boxing.

Pair that with the fact that he’s a far more experienced fighter (and also ranked number one by the WBA as a super flyweight), and Betting Insider Journal favors a Chocolatito win over a Rey.

But as with everything in life, just because you’re the underdog doesn’t mean you have zero shot at winning; Martinez is, after all, the WBC Flyweight Champion, and has held the title since 2019.

Boxing News 24/7 additionally reports how the 27-year-old (his younger age being another advantage he has over Gonzalez) Mexico City native specifically stepped up from flyweight to super flyweight in order to take Gonzalez on, giving him an added drive in trying to beat Chocolatito.
