Columbus Blue Jackets place defenseman Adam Boqvist on injured reserve

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) —
The Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday placed defenseman Adam Boqvist on injured reserve retroactive to February 27.

Boqvist, 21, suffered an upper-body injury in a contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday and is listed as day-to-day.
In 40 games this season, the Falun, Sweden native has scored 10 goals and registered nine assists. He leads the Blue Jackets defensemen in goals and is third in points.
He is the sixth different blue liner in club history to record 10 goals in a single season.
The Blue Jackets will be back in action Friday night when they host the Los Angeles Kings.
