Peter Dinklage hears this line all the time from Game of Thrones fans

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost three years since the Game of Thrones series finale, but the world continues to talk about it. I know this to be true because anytime the words “HBO” or “Game of Thrones” are uttered, I’ve dove into a lengthy conversation about the series and the way it ended.

But it’s not all bad memories. Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) revealed during a recent chat with BBC’s Ali Plumb the line of dialogue that Game of Thrones fans say to him the most. There are a lot of Tyrion catchphrases, but this is the one that has broken through:

"‘I drink and I know things,’ yeah, c’mon. Yeah, I don’t get out much anymore, but if I want a free drink, I guess I just go to the pub."

This line came late in Game of Thrones’ run in the season 6 episode “Home,” and is not from George R.R. Martin’s books.

Peter Dinklage’s most famous Game of Thrones lines

That’s just one of many great Tyrion lines, of course. “Death is boring.” “A mind needs books like a sword needs a whetstone.” And perhaps my personal favorites, “A Lannister always pays his debts.”

While Peter Dinklage’s time on Game of Thrones may be over, he’s been keeping busy with many other projects. Most recently, he starred in Cyrano as lovesick poet Cyrano de Bergerac. It’s been getting quite a bit of buzz so be sure to check it out if you haven’t already.

Last but not least, since we’re talking about Game of Thrones, the highly-anticipated prequel series House of the Dragon is set to air sometime this year on HBO and HBO Max. We’ll see if it makes a big a splash as its predecessor.
