Bobby Lewis running for Houston County Chairman

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — In just a couple of months, voters will decide who they would like to lead Houston County into the future.

On Thursday, one more Republican candidate, Bobby Lewis, threw his hat into the race for Houston County Commission Chairman.

For the past 40 years, Lewis has been active in the community, helping feed veterans and others in need with fresh produce grown on his farm. He promises to improve roads and bridges, bring more transparency to the commission and try to save the Farm Center.

“I believe that you as an individual citizen should really have your voice heard,” Lewis said. “I don’t have to agree with what you are saying. You are a citizen of this county and this county. If I were to represent you and the rest of the people in this county. Your voice is just as important as the next person’s.”

Lewis is running against current commissioners Doug Sinquefield and Brandon Shoupe.

Houston County voters can cast their ballots on May 24th during the statewide primary election.
