Florida State’s Alex Atkins will receive a pay increase to go along with his new duties as the Seminoles offensive coordinator.

Atkins, who also serves as FSU’s offensive line coach, signed a 3-year deal that keeps him with the school through Dec. 31, 2024, according to contract information obtained through a Freedom of Information request. The new contract comes with a sizable raise, increasing his base salary from $575,000 to $850,000.

He joined Mike Norvell’s staff in 2020 after serving as offensive line coach and offensive coordinator at Charlotte in 2019.

Atkins’ wasn’t the only contract information released Thursday.

Randy Shannon, who went from analyst to linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator, signed a two-year deal that runs through Dec. 31, 2023. He’s set to make $600,000 each of his two seasons although he’s eligible for a $25,000 retention bonus if he stays on staff past Dec. 15, 2022.

Shannon, 56, previously served as linebackers coach and defensive coordinator at UCF from 2018-20. He also served as head coach at Miami (2007-10) and on an interim basis at Florida (2017).

Defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins also signed a 2-year contract extension that keeps him with the Seminoles through Dec. 31, 2023. A veteran coach who’s been a part of Florida State’s coaching staff since 1994, Haggins also received a bump in salary from $500,000 to $600,000.

Tony Tokarz took over as quarterbacks coach after the departure of former co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Kenny Dillingham in December. The former offensive analyst signed a 2-year deal that pays him an annual salary of $300,000.

Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans, who joined the FSU staff two seasons ago, signed a 1-year contract extension through Dec. 31, 2022. His salary will remain at $450,000.
