Georgia State Rep. Nikema Williams, Morehouse’s Dr. Montgomery Rice React to State of the Union

Every year at the beginning of our nation’s month-long annual celebration of more than 400 years of black influence upon American history, Black History month presents a different theme to honor the accomplishments and examine the travails of African Americans who over the years have impacted the culture and the country in compelling and memorable ways.

With protests and outcry over the Tyre Nichols beating and death, we’d like to bring to your attention a powerful move of solidarity by Black Men. During the Sunday morning worship service on Sunday, Jan. 29, Pastor Wilbur T. Purvis III of Destiny World Church located in Austell, GA (15 minutes west of Atlanta) asked all of the men to stand in the church.
