Who Is Luke Norris?

Luke Norris stars as Rob in The Weekend Away, Beth's cheating husband and the father of her daughter, Aster.

Norris is best known for his role as Dr. Dwight Enys in Poldark, a role he played from 2015 to 2019.

His other television credits include Lt. Mold in Our World War, Seamen Holmes in the 2012 TV mini-series Titanic, and Donny in Skins.

He has also appeared in the films The Colour Room as Guy Shorte and Barney in Been So Long.

Norris is best known for his stage career, having starred in multiple productions in London's West End.

Most recently he starred as Bruce Niles in The National Theatre's The Normal Heart and as Thomas in Nora: A Doll's House at the Young Vic.

His other theatre credits include Bruce in Blue/Orange, Rodolfo in A View from the Bridge, and Oliver in As You Like It.

One of the biggest twists of The Weekend Away was the moment it was revealed Rob and Kate had been having an affair for months, including the days leading up to Beth and Kate's trip to Croatia.

When Beth found out about his infidelity, Rob did not deny the affair, but he was adamant he did not kill Kate.

However, in the end, Beth uncovered the truth, finding one of the beads from Kate's necklace that she gifted to her in Croatia, in Rob's jacket pocket.

With Detective Kovac on the phone from Croatia, who has alerted the British police in London, Rob admitted to killing Kate. He had arrived a day early in a bid to stop Kate from revealing the truth about their affair. They had gotten into an argument and Rob claimed she had fallen and hit her head.

However, Beth and the police knew Kate was alive when she fell into the water and Rob simply let her drown.

Alderson, who wrote the screenplay for the film adaption, has changed the ending of the movie from the book.

In the book, Rob is the one who killed Beth but instead of Beth confronting Rob about killing her best friend, he has disappeared just in time, with their baby in his arms.

Ahead of the release of the movie, Alderson teased on Twitter a different ending.
She said: "Read the book before you watch the movie. (I may have changed the ending for the movie)."
