Officials identified 35-year-old Justin Roberts who died after a crash on I-5 in Tacoma (Tacoma, WA)

On Tuesday, authorities identified 35-year-old Justin Roberts as the man who lost his life following a traffic collision on Feb. 15 in Tacoma.

The fatal two-vehicle crash took place at around 2:41 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5, just north of 84th Street. According to the investigation reports, a work truck driven by Roberts crashed into a semi-truck from behind. Reports further added that traffic was slowing for a crash, and the semi-truck was slowing down in the far right lane.

The work truck seemed to be traveling more than 60 miles per hour when it collided with the semi. Roberts was the sole occupant of the truck. On arrival, emergency responders freed him from the vehicle. He suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Justin Roberts, of Tacoma, died of multiple blunt force injuries. His death was ruled an accident. No other details are made available.

An investigation continues.
