Former abductee and best-selling author Elizabeth Smart is coming to Boise for the Faces of Hope luncheon.
Smart was taken from her Salt Lake City home in 2002 and was held captive and abused for nine months. Since then, she's become a role model and advocate for survivors of abduction and sexual assault.
Faces of Hope, a charity that helps people experiencing abuse, will be hosting Smart at a luncheon in the Boise Centre on March 2.
“Elizabeth’s story is a story of hope and healing. She is a role model for all survivors and an inspiration for everyone who works to help victims become survivors,” says Faces of Hope Executive Director Paige Dinger. "We hope that sharing her story will uplift those in our community experiencing interpersonal abuse and inspire our community to remember that we all have a role in creating safety from interpersonal violence in the Treasure Valley."
