Hawaii Islanders have always been resilient and to move forward together, we need progress that is affordable, practical and improves the quality of life for everyone. County government plays a critical role in setting the stage for people to succeed. I’m entering this race motivated and above all, ready to listen to all, identify priorities and to get results,” said Evans.

“It is imperative to find new ways to navigate opportunities and reduce risk. I will work persistently to engage with residents of all ages and backgrounds, honoring what has come before and celebrating the values of our island culture,” said Evans. “Working with each other and collaborating with state and federal agencies, we can make a difference in our local communities and move in a positive direction. I have learned collaboration and consensus building and I get results.”

Evans’ County initiatives and concerns include lack of affordable and workforce housing, road and parks infrastructure in the district, County permitting issues, healthcare, agriculture, environmental issues including water quality and invasive species control and the high cost of living.
