BATAVIA — The Genesee Community College men’s basketball team earned its first NJCAA Division III Regional III championship since 2015 with a slim, 88-85 victory over Onandaga Community College in Sunday’s regional title game.

The top seeded Cougars, ranked No. 4 nationally, ousted the No. 2 nationally-ranked team, OCC, to advance to the NJCAA Div. III national tournament. Genesee is currently riding an 18-game winning streak.
