Theo Hernandez believes that AC Milan had the chances to beat Inter in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final, but now the target is winning in the return leg to reach Rome.

Milan’s momentum from early February evaporated as they dropped points against bottom-placed side Salernitana in a 2-2 draw and followed that up by drawing 1-1 against Udinese at San Siro on Friday night, so they needed a response in the derby.

In the end it was a 0-0 draw that actually might have been quite a predictable one given that Inter did not come into the game in the best form either having gone winless in their last four league games too.

Theo Hernandez spoke to Mediaset at the end of the game to reflect on the stalemate, expressing his belief that it was a good performance from the team, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“We had a good match, we knew it was difficult. Now we have another challenge to win and go to the final,” the defender said.

“We are giving everything working day by day, we are having an incredible season. Now we have to continue and win. We have had many chances, if we don’t score we can’t win. But we played a good game.”
