Dedicated to continuing the legacy of AIDS educator and activist Pedro Zamora, the National AIDS Memorial awards undergraduate scholarships of $5,000 to emerging young leaders engaged in the fight against HIV/AIDS and/or efforts toward advancing health, racial, and social justice. These individuals are the next generation of health care providers, policymakers, activists, and caretakers who will be at the helm of the same systems, practices, interventions, research, and advocacy efforts that ultimately bring about an end to HIV/AIDS.

CRITERIA: 

The scholarship is open to all current high school seniors and first-year college students, sophomores and juniors (ages 27 and younger), including those who are finishing their Bachelor’s degree. Our scholars’ academic, extracurricular, or career pursuits are consistent with the goals of the scholarship program, demonstrate an active commitment to community justice work, and take on public service and leadership roles.
