Blake Anderson, the Utah State coach who received loads of support from SEC fans especially at Georgia when he was the Arkansas State coach, has suffered another tragic loss.

Utah State and Athletics Director John Hartwell released a statement to offer thoughts and prayers following the tragic death of his son.

Anderson and his family previously dealt with another tremendous loss 3 years ago when his wife died at 49 following a battle with breast cancer. At the time, Anderson released a statement when he was Arkansas State’s coach, as he took a leave of absence to be with her.

“My beautiful girl has gone home to be with Jesus… no more pain, no more suffering, and praise Him no more cancer. She passed as peacefully and gracefully as could ever hope just a few minutes before midnight with me laying right beside here. I have been so blessed to have her by my side each day for the past 27 years. Thank you so much to all who have walked, prayed, cried, and loved her through this brutal two-year battle… Praise Him that she hurts no more, and is in His presence now and forever.”

Georgia fans rallied behind Anderson when the Bulldogs played Arkansas State after Wendy’s passing.

A hashtag spread on social media called #WearPinkForWendy ahead of the Red Wolves game that week at Georgia, and the Georgia student section wore pink body paint in support of Anderson’s wife.
