A lot of Americans feel helpless when it comes to the invasion of Ukraine. However, the owners of a liquor store in Shawnee are doing something about it: they’ve stopped selling Russian vodka.

Terry and Sherri Compton own Uncorked Wine and Spirits. Terry said that they’ve been watching the images from Ukraine, with women and children fleeing the country and men staying to fight, and he said no longer selling Russian vodka is their way of fighting back.

“Having to defend their country from some crazy person who’s invaded a country, for no reason and he’s just bombing civilians. So there’s not a lot we can do, but just by refusing to sell their product I hope makes a difference,” he said.

Sherri said she poured out a bottle of vodka this morning. The rest they have sitting on a shelf and she said they will not buy any more.
