Very close to the bottom of this week’s edition of the Hot Trending Songs chart comes Taeyeon with her brand new single “INVU.” The cut, the latest from the former Girls’ Generation powerhouse and current solo star, opens at No. 19 on the 20-spot tally, and while that’s not the most impressive placement on Billboard’s list of the most-talked-about tracks on Twitter, the tune still helps the K-pop talent make history on the relatively new roster.

As “INVU” debuts, Taeyeon becomes just the fourth solo female musician to place more than one single anywhere on the Hot Trending Songs chart. As her total number of wins doubles, she joins some of the most successful women in today’s music industry, and proves her immense popularity on social media while she’s at it.

“INVU” marks Taeyeon’s first proper win on her own on the Hot Trending Songs chart, as her first placement came to her as a featured star on a track fronted by another musician. Astro member MJ recruited her for his solo single “Get Set Yo,” which peaked at No. 18. While it only held on for one turn, the tune still helped her reach the ranking for the first time.

The first solo female musician to reach the Hot Trending Songs chart more than once was Lisa, who is best known as one of the four members of the K-pop girl group Blackpink. The first week Billboard published the list in the fall of 2021, Lisa debuted her tunes “Money” and “Lalisa” at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. She missed out on being the first leader by just one space, as BTS’s “Permission to Dance” introduced the tally.

Since then, just three other women working on their own have placed a pair of tunes onto the Hot Trending Songs chart, with Taeyeon becoming the third this week. Taylor Swift sent a pair of cuts from her Red (Taylor’s Version) to the social ranking, with “All Too Well” breaking into the top 10 (it peaked at No. 9) while the re-recorded version of “Red” rose as high as No. 14.

Brazilian singer-songwriter Anitta is also a member of this exclusive girls club, as she too has pushed two tunes onto the Hot Trending Songs chart. In the first week Billboard published the Twitter-centric ranking, her collaboration with Saweetie, the catchy “Faking Love,” opened at No. 13 before disappearing. Recently, her solo smash “Boys Don’t Cry” reached No. 11, almost becoming her first top 10.

Several other solo female musicians have also landed somewhere on the Hot Trending Songs chart, but so far, with just one release. Names like Adele, Seulgi of Red Velvet, Halsey, IU and Nicki Minaj, to name just a few, have all appeared on the list. Any one of them could sometime soon become the next act to collect a second social smash and join Swift, Anitta, Lisa and Taeyeon in this impressive feat.
