Aoife O’Donovan, the Irish-American singer and Grammy award-winning songwriter born in Newton, is making an appearance at The Sinclair in just a few weeks.

Though O’Donovan is embarking on an international tour schedule, she is only in the Boston area for one night: March 2. She will be joined at the Cambridge venue at 8 p.m. by special guest Yasmin Williams, a Virginia-based acoustic guitarist.

O’Donovan recently released her third solo studio album, “Age of Apathy.” The album has 11 songs that are described as “at once intimate and ambitious, autobiographical and metaphysical,” by The New York Times in a recent feature on O’Donovan.

Her work can be found beyond her solo albums, though; she is also a part of several musical groups. She co-founded the Grammy Award-winning female folk trio I’m With Her, is the lead singer for string band Crooked Still, and is a featured vocalist on The Goat Rodeo Sessions with Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, Edgar Meyer, and Chris Thile.

The Sinclair is a live-music venue on Church Street that also has a restaurant open Wednesday through Saturday.

The event is only open to those over the age of 18; attendees must show proof of full vaccination for entrance. Twenty-five cents from every ticket purchased goes to The Shout Syndicate, a fundraising effort that distributes funds to youth-led arts programs in Greater Boston.
