One person dead in overnight NYC shooting

A 25-year-old man was shot and killed overnight in East Harlem, police said.

The deadly gunfire erupted shortly before 11 p.m. Friday in front of 2251 First Ave., near East 117th Street in East Harlem, cops said.

The victim, Shaquell Gainey, was found shot in the chest by cops responding to a 911 call, police said.

EMS transported the mortally wounded man to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There are no arrests and police, who had no motive for the shooting, said the investigation remains ongoing.
