Commander Dale Brown has received a lot of attention and he’s finally addressed the naysayers.

Brown went viral after posting a series of self-defense videos. The clips have gone viral and have been used in memes. While many believe that Brown’s teachings are a joke, he says this is no laughing matter.

Commander Dale Brown Fires Back

UFC fighters began to take notice of Brown’s teachings and blasted him. Tai Tuivasa and Sean Strickland have even gone as far as to say they wish to put hands on Dale Brown.

Appearing on The MMA Hour, Brown said those same fighters criticizing him would never risk their lives to protect others.

“Well, I can tell you from experience anybody that’s serious that’s real knows that this is not anything to mock. They know if life is serious they can tell that our training is real. Those individuals that are mocking are also the people who will not go out and take on gangs and protect people. They’ll never leave the safety of their training facility for sport application and go out and literally put their life on the line to protect others for free or otherwise.”

Going Viral

Brown accompanied Joaquin Buckley to the Octagon for his UFC Vegas 48 fight. The commander said that throughout fight week, he was getting recognition for his videos.

“The greatest thing I think is to see the demographics involved. There’s so many different people from so many different places. Was just in Vegas as you know with the UFC with Buckley and it was amazing. To see, as we walked the strip as we went places, to see how people responded.

“Every language, every demographic, younger, older, mostly males but also females and husbands and wives and kids. It was amazing to see whole families and some of them don’t speak English but they were like, ‘Oh my gosh, can we take a picture with you?’ I’m like, ‘Of course, if you want,’ [laughs].

“To me, it just seems strange cause I can’t believe that they wanna take a picture with me in the first place.

“But if that’s what helps to get the word out there, the comedy that I was doing with comedians, if that’s what makes you look, if the fun parts of this make you look and learn about gun disarms, knife disarms, learn about psychology in law, now you can use psychology in law to create safety in your family, in your community, in your corporation, in your country then I’m proud to be able to share what we’ve learned.”

Brown said that if Buckley wishes to have him Octagon-side for his next fight, he’d be more than willing to appear again. Whether or not other fighters would take as kindly to him remains to be seen.
