Six Australians will head to this year's Hundred tournament in England after being retained by their respective franchises.

T20 World Cup-winning pair Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis are among the men that will play in the star-studded competition, while Australian women's stars Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy and Amanda-Jade Wellington will also feature.

Stoinis and Tim David, who plays for Tasmania and the Hobart Hurricanes, will suit up for the Southern Brave, who were last year's Hundred champions. Maxwell, meanwhile, has been picked to play for London Spirit, who finished last in 2021.

Healy will play for the Northern Superchargers while Perry will line up for the Birmingham Phoenix and Wellington with the Brave.

It will be the first edition of the Hundred featuring a large cohort of international players after COVID-19 restrictions in the UK last season forced multiple overseas-based players to withdraw.

David Warner, Aaron Finch, Adam Zampa, Meg Lanning, Beth Mooney and Nicola Carey are among the big names that missed out on selection, however the men's players who are not retained are able to enter the Hundred's draft on March 30th.

The men's Hundred competition will commence on August 3rd, with the women's to get underway the following week.

The Hundred is a 100-ball round-robin tournament started by the ECB last year consisting of eight teams located across major cities in England and Wales.
