Television personality Katy McDermott has revealed she didn't make the cut for the latest season of Celebs Go Dating.

McDermott, known for appearing on the second series of ITV's Love Island, said she was supposed to star in the new episodes of the E4 series, but was dropped in favour of another celebrity.

The islander didn't disclose the name of the fellow singleton who ended up being on the dating show, whose tenth season has just finished airing.

"Celebs Go Dating I was going to go on that, I think I got dropped for someone else," McDermott told The Sun.

"Last year I was going to but I didn't want to, the one that just went they emailed my management but it wasn't the right timing and stuff," she added.

The dating show where celebrities are paired with civilian dates saw presenter Ulrika Jonsson, rapper Abz Love, Made in Chelsea's Miles Nazaire, Married at First Sight's Nikita Jasmine and Jessika Power, TOWIE's Chloe Brockett, The Apprentice's Ryan-Mark Parsons and Geordie Shore's Marty McKenna looking for love and relationship advice.

As usual, the celebrities were aided in their romantic quest by agents Anna Williamson and Paul Carrick Brunson.

McDermott didn't seem too disappointed she had missed her Celebs Go Dating shot as an exciting work opportunity awaits her across the pond.

"I'm going to LA in March for a show, It's on E!" she explained, without giving too much away.

"It might be a new show, it's still up in the air."

Love Island airs on ITV2 and is available via catch up on ITV Hub and BritBox.
