Norview’s double-overtime win over King’s Fork in early December ultimately proved to be the tiny edge that gives the Pilots the No. 1 spot in the final 757Teamz girls basketball rankings for the 2021-22 season.

The Pilots have not lost a game to a local team this season, while the Bulldogs’ only loss to a team from Hampton Roads came in that matchup.

Interestingly, this marks the first time in years that the No. 4 Princess Anne Cavaliers — whose loss to No. 3 Hampton was their first since 2017 to a team from Hampton Roads — does not top the season-ending rankings. All of this is, of course, window dressing as everyone begins postseason play this week taking aim on the biggest prizes — state championships.
