Nils Lundkvist, Vitali Kravtsov top list of players Rangers could deal as deadline approaches

With the NHL’s March 21 trade deadline steadily approaching, the Rangers are expected to be buyers. Reinforcements are needed if the Rangers hope to succeed in the playoffs, and the organization has an enticing pool of young players and prospects who are sure to have general managers around the league checking in with team president Chris Drury.

So which Rangers could be traded? Here are the three players most likely to be packaged in a deal before the trade deadline or in the offseason.

1. Nils Lundkvist, D

The hype that followed Lundkvist on his journey from Sweden to New York makes the 21-year-old defenseman’s spot at the top of this list all the more shocking. To anyone who has watched the Rangers this season, however, it was evident Lundkvist never was quite able to make the expected impression on the blue line in his 25 games played.
