Michael Stanley celebration show coming to Robins

WARREN — A celebration of the life and music of Michael Stanley is coming to the Robins Theatre in May.

The Michael Stanley Band set attendance records at many northeast Ohio venues in the 1970s and ’80s, and Stanley continued to break records even after his death last March. Shows celebrating Stanley’s legacy last December at MGM Northfield Park were the fastest sellouts in the venue’s history, leading to encore shows May 28 at Akron’s Goodyear Theater and May 29 at the Robins, 160 E. Market St.

The show will feature The Resonators, Stanley’s band for more than 20 years; Jonah Koslen, a member of MSB in the ’70s; northeast Ohio guitarist Michael Weber; and a special performance by The Vindys.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show range from $37.50 to $69 and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday at the Robins Theatre and online at robinstheatre.com.

A portion of every ticket sold for these two concerts will be donated to the 10,000 Watts of Holy Light Fund of The Cleveland Foundation, launched by the Stanley family to identify Cleveland-centric organizations and dedicate annual donations as part of its mission.
