The Resonators will celebrate the musical legacy of Michael Stanley with encore shows in Akron and Warren.

Fans who missed the two sold-out shows last December at MGM Northfield Park will have two more opportunities to attend tributes to the life of the Cleveland rocker. Stanley, 72, died of lung cancer March 5, 2021.

The newly announced shows will be May 28 at Goodyear Theater in Akron and May 29 at the Robins Theatre in Warren. Both concerts will start at 7:30 p.m. and feature The Vindys, a Youngstown band.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Ticketmaster.com. Pricing ranges from $36.50 to $75.

Among those scheduled to perform with The Resonators are singer-guitarist Jonah Koslen and drummer Tommy Dobeck, two former members of the Michael Stanley Band. Dobeck was unable to attend the December shows after unexpectedly being rushed to the hospital.

“I was simply devastated and heartbroken when the doctors told me I couldn’t play the concerts honoring Michael,” Dobeck said in a prepared statement. “The shows in Akron & Warren will provide me the opportunity to celebrate my friendship and love for Michael, along with his fans and fellow Resonators as we perform five decades of memorable music from Michael’s early beginnings, to MSB, to The Resonators.”

Also participating in the Memorial Day weekend concerts will be Michael Weber, a Northeast Ohio guitarist, record producer and winner of MTV’s “Amazingness” television show.

The Goodyear Theater is at 1200 E. Market St. For more information, go to goodyeartheater.com or call 330-659-7118. The Robins Theatre is at 160 E. Market St. in Warren. For more information, visit robinstheatre.com or call 234-437-6246.

Health protocols are subject to change during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Goodyear Theater currently requires all patrons to wear a mask upon entering the building. The Robins Theatre strongly recommends a mask for patrons who are not fully vaccinated. Check with the venues for updates as the concerts approach.

A portion of proceeds for the two concerts will be donated to the newly formed 10,000 Watts of Holy Light Fund of the Cleveland Foundation. Stanley’s family teamed up with the foundation to launch the fund, which will benefit “Cleveland-centric organizations.” For more information, visit https://michaelstanley.com/10000-watts-of-holy-light
