Former Georgia Southern head football coach Chad Lunsford has officially been named the new special teams coordinator and tight ends coach at Florida Atlantic University.
Lunsford was fired at Georgia Southern in late September after the Eagles lost three of their first four games to open the 2021 season.
While head coach in Statesboro, Lunsford would guide Georgia Southern to a 28-21 record and three straight bowl appearances.
He was head coach for four full seasons after being named interim head coach for the end of the 2017 campaign.

Chad Lunsford was one of three additions to the FAU staff announced by head coach Willie Taggart this weekend.
Derrick Gibson was named safeties coach and Shane Marinelli as director of high school relations were also announced.
"I'm happy that Chad, Derrick and Shane are joining us in Paradise," Taggart said in a press release, adding that they "bring tremendous and diverse experiences to our staff."
