Senator Scott Wilk Honors Community Leaders During Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, Senator Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, has recognized several prominent community leaders who have made a difference in the lives of families and students living in Senate District 21.

On Friday, Wilk congratulated four prominent leaders in the Santa Clarita community in honor of Black History Month. 

“Black History Month is about history as well as the future,” Wilk said. “I am showcasing four amazing individuals in the 21st Senate District whose dedication to their work will craft a better future for their congregations, youth, the people they assist and mentor every day.”

With over 45 years of experience in ministry work, Dr. Pamela Heller has worked in several capacities in the church as an Associate Pastor, Executive Administrator, Youth Dance Director and Finance Officer in the Antelope Valley, according to Wilk. 

Bishop Charles Heller serves as the Senior Pastor of Kingdom Life Fellowship Church in Lancaster where he devotes his time and ministry to restore men to their rightful places in the eyes of God and the Body of Christ, according to Wilk.

Niamani Knight is a 20-year-old award-winning philanthropist and education advocate who founded the S.T.R.E.A.M. Kids Expo™ in Santa Clarita that “connects the dots between education and career through interactive exhibits, industry expert exposure and peer support, according to the S.T.R.E.A.M. mission statement. 

Frank Kelly is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of No Drugs America Association, Inc., which he founded in 2000. He is a community leader, who has volunteered and worked in the field of substance use prevention and has spent the last 20 years as a professional in this field, according to Wilk. 

“It is my honor to recognize four incredible individuals who’ve given their heart and soul, during the pandemic, to serving others,” Wilk said. “Hats off and congratulations to this year’s recipients, Dr. Pamela Heller, Bishop Charles Heller, Niamani Knight, and Frank Kelly.”
