James Murray says ‘Impractical Jokers’ will be ‘awesome’ amid Joe Gatto’s exit

“Impractical Jokers” faithful don’t have anything to worry about despite Joe Gatto's departure, fellow Joker James “Murr” Murray said.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — “Impractical Jokers” faithful don’t have anything to worry about, according to James “Murr” Murray.

Murray took to Instagram this week to discuss the hit TV prank show’s new season, the April 2 “Impractical Jokers” special, and quasi-address the elephant in the room: Fellow — er, former — Joker Joe Gatto’s exit from the team.

“You’re gonna love it,” said Murray, noting new episodes will start being released in June. “It’s great. Everything is going well, the filming is well, we’re just going on. … Yes, we are bringing ‘Impractical Jokers’ back, and it’s gonna be awesome. So don’t worry.”

Gatto announced his departure from the hugely popular prank show in an Instagram post on Dec. 31. In the same post, Gatto also dropped the news that he and his wife of nine years were divorcing. She has since been seen showing support for her ex, according to People.

Gatto had been with the show since it first started airing in 2011.

Nearly two weeks after Gatto’s surprise New Year’s Eve announcement, fellow Joker Brian “Q” Quinn addressed his longtime friend’s exit, saying he was “f------ shocked” when he found out.

On an episode of his “Tell Em Steve-Dave” comedy podcast, Quinn told fellow hosts Walt Flanagan and Bryan Johnson he “didn’t necessarily see [the exit] coming.”

In the wake of Gatto’s departure, certain episodes featuring him in “compromising” positions have been removed from streaming, according to Cinema Blend.

The standalone “Impractical Jokers” special will air April 2 across all three of Turner’s TNET networks — TBS, TNT and truTV — simultaneously directly following the NCAA Men’s Final Four, Deadline reported.

Lending Murray, Quinn and Sal Vulcano a helping hand in the special will be comedian Eric André.
