USFL Head of Officiating Mike Pereira dropped some exciting news last night on Twitter. Could the USFL give us more access to referee calls and a say on replay?
“It’s seems a bit early but it’s time to follow @USFL. We are going to do things on the site that have never been done before. We will highlight the rules and officials. We even might use your input to make replay decisions. Follow me on @USFL.”
‘We even might use your input to make replay decisions.’ feels very Fan Controlled Football (FCF) and an interesting chance to get fans more involved. The nice thing about these spring football leagues like the XFL, USFL, and FCF. They have an opportunity to try out new things and take risks, unlike the NFL, which has to deal with 32 owners in making decisions. These leagues are small and agile, which can give them an advantage.
Pereira talked about how some rules will be different on the Green Light Podcast With Chris Long, including using lasers and more.
We have been reporting that the schedule could come out as early as Monday. We expect the rule book is not too far behind. Training camp begins March 21st, and the USFL draft is five days away on February 22nd.
We are less than 60 days till USFL kick-off. We will have more details on USFL rules as it breaks.

Glad to see increased fan input. The XFL 2020 was innovative with the camera inside the instant replay booth, so this could be the next step forward depending on how it is utilized.
