UTICA – James Donald Poland passed away Feb. 16, 2022, at Knox Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 9, 1939, in Utica to the late Donald and Margaret (White) Poland.

James attended Homer High School and retired from Rolls Royce. He was married 64 years to his high school sweetheart, Alyce Faye Hyatt. He enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting and attending gun shows and antique car shows.

He is survived by his wife; son, James “Dick” (Kathleen) Poland of St. Louisville; daughter, Jill (Neil Good) Cella of Danville; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; sister, Shirley Fawcett of Mount Vernon; and close friend, Ron McManaway.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dicky; sister, Joyce Lancaster; and daughter-in-law, Vickie (Gullett) Poland.

Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 21, from 5-7 p.m. at the Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica.
