Foster care for unaccompanied migrant children in Denver will cost $2.4 million through Sept. 30, 2025, according to Tuesday’s Denver Mayor-Council agenda. "The grant funding received for the Unaccompanied Refugee Minor program is entirely federal, so federal dollars pay for the full $2.4 million," city spokesman Jon Ewing said. "Nothing is coming out of Denver’s budget and DHS isn’t paying the state. The grant pays us."
