History will repeat itself – sort of – at the 2022 NBA All-Star Game Sunday when the league honors the 75th anniversary team during halftime of the annual midseason celebration.

The 50th anniversary team was announced at the 1997 NBA All-Star Game at what was then Gund Arena.

Filmmaker Spike Lee, singer and Cavs minority owner Usher and actress-comedian Tiffany Haddish will serve as narrators and guide fans through the NBA’s history.

Many of the greats who helped the NBA thrive through those years will be on hand as the 75th anniversary team is announced.

Festivities will take on a local flavor as Cleveland’s Machine Gun Kelly and record producer DJ D-Nice will introduce the 2022 NBA All-Stars. Canton native Macy Gray will sing the national anthem and Ryland James will sing the Canadian national anthem.

Saturday, prior to the AT&T Slam Dunk during State Farm All-Star Saturday Night at 8 p.m., DJ Khaled, Grammy Award-winners Mary J. Blige, who recently performed at the Super Bowl halftime show, Ludacris and Lil Wayne along with Gunna, Migos and Lil Baby will perform.
