Pionk (not injury related) will be added to the active roster and return to action Wednesday versus Minnesota, Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet reports.
Pionk is expected to return to his usual prominent role following his one-game absence, skating on the second pairing and second power-play unit against the Wild. The 26-year-old American has racked up 19 points, 87 shots and 102 hits through 41 contests this campaign.
