OAKLAND — Our family is grieving the unexpected loss of George Paul Burns III, 75, of Oakland, on Feb. 12, 2022, at his home in Oakland.
He was the son of the late George Paul Burns Jr., Evelyn Elaine Chamberlain Burns Gyenese and Wanda Jean Raper Burns.
George, known to many in the Oakland area, was born on April 29, 1946, in Muskegon, Mich. He was a United States Vietnam War veteran, serving in Da Nang, South Vietnam.
Throughout his life, he worked as an auto transport truck driver and a journeyman carpenter/mason. After retirement, George continued his love of a good book and of course fishing.
While his family mourns George privately, they would like his friends to remember the great conversation he had with each of you.
At George’s request, he will be cremated, with private services being held at a later time.
Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, is in charge of his arrangements.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association – Western MD, 1850 York Rd., Ste., D., Timonium, MD 21093, or Vietnam Veterans of America, 8719 Colesville Rd., Ste 100, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
