The Marquette men's basketball team added a big man to its 2022 recruiting class.

Ben Gold, a 6-foot-10 forward from the NBA Global Academy in Australia, committed to the Golden Eagles on Monday.

Gold, 18, is a New Zealand native who has an inside-out game. MU has already signed guards Sean Jones and Chase Ross to their 2022 class and the versatile, sweet-shooting Gold should be a nice complement.

Gold will be the second MU player to come from the NBA's developmental academies around the world. Olivier-Maxence Prosper, a Montreal native, played at the NBA Academy Latin America in Mexico City.

Gold, who made an official visit to MU earlier this season, arrived at the NBA Global Academy two years ago from his hometown of Wellington, New Zealand. He has experience playing with the New Zealand national team.

The spring signing period for college basketball begins April 13.
