One of the storylines with the Patriots following the 2021 season was who is actually in charge of the defense?

Appearing on Merloni & Fauria Wednesday, former Patriots linebacker and current ESPN analyst Tedy Bruschi believes it's time for Bill Belichick to name a defensive coordinator -- Jerod Mayo or Steve Belichick.

“I think one of them needs to be named defensive coordinator," he said. "It’s got to be somebody. Just give them the jump, give them the authority, let them develop. I’d like to see that next year.”

As for who might be the "leader in the clubhouse" for it?
