James Richard “Rick” Griffin, 63, of Zebulon, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6.
Rick was born in Griffin on May 5, 1958. His father Everitt Cleveland Griffin, his first wife, Teresa Ann Pittman Griffin, and brother, Cleve Griffin all preceded him in death. Rick was a 1976 graduate of Griffin High School, longtime volunteer Baseball Coach, formerly served on the board at CrossPointe Christian Academy and was a retired chiropractor. Rick was a member of Christ Chapel in Pike County.
Survivors include, his wife, Penny Westbury Griffin; son, Tyler and Dana Griffin and their 2 children, Avery Griffin and Brayden Griffin; son, Kip and Daniel Glazener-Wise; son, Keaton Wise; his mother, Martha Griffin; brother, Henry and Tam Griffin, Johnny and Kim Griffin, Wade and Ivey Griffin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patti and Byron Brock; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joey and Liss Pittman; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home followed by a funeral service in the chapel. Pastor Billy Smith will officiate. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Christ Chapel Be the Light Fund, 68 Old Zebulon Road, Zebulon, GA 30295 or to the CrossPointe Christian Academy, 5224 Hollonville Road, Williamson, Georgia 30292. The funeral services will be livestream from his obituary page.
