After a rocky start to 2022, The View is once again welcoming back conservative guest hosts to fill ex-host Meghan McCain‘s seat. But not all of the returning hosts are a hit with the ABC talk show’s fans. Case in point: When former Trump White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah returned during today’s episode, audiences flocked to social media to share their disdain for the talking head.

Farah joins a line of returning conservative guests who have filled McCain’s seat, which has seen folks like Tara Setmayer and The View alum Ana Navarro.

The show’s audiences were resistant to Farah’s previous appearance on the show based on her past White House gig alone. Judging by viewers’ tweets, she hasn’t won many new supporters this time around, either.

As one fan put it: “Stop shoving that Alyssa woman down our throat.”

Today, fans took issue with Farah pointing out that there have been more COVID-19 deaths under the Biden administration, given that she previously worked for the Trump White House (although she did criticize Trump for politicizing masks).

“Other than Ana Navarro, do they bring these ‘right wing’ guest hosts on for entertainment?” another viewer wrote. “This Alyssa Farrah is adding ZERO value, and trying to blame Biden without explicitly blaming Biden for covid deaths.”

They also criticized Farah for arguing that wearing masks was harmful to children’s development.

“Alyssa on #TheView told a flat-out lie,” an audience member added. “There are no studies showing masks are detrimental for kids.”

Between Whoopi Goldberg’s suspension and audience backlash against Farah, the last few weeks of The View have been anything but business as usual.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC. Scroll up to watch a clip from today’s episode.
