Chicago Bears coach Matt Eberflus has hired three new coaches: defensive line coach Travis Smith, tight ends coach Jim Dray and assistant offensive line coach Austin King.

Dray has four years of coaching experience, including three in the NFL. He was the offensive quality control coach for the Cleveland Browns in 2019 and for the Arizona Cardinals in 2020-21.

Dray played tight end for eight years in the NFL after the Cardinals drafted him in the seventh round in 2010. He had 56 catches for 605 yards and three touchdowns in 94 games, including 38 starts, for the Cardinals, Browns, Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers.

Dray, 35, is a native of Paramus, N.J.

The former center, who was a four-year starter at Northwestern, played 34 games in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons from 2004-06. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Toledo, Syracuse and Dayton. The Cincinnati native was Dayton’s offensive coordinator for three seasons.

Smith has 12 years of coaching experience, including the last 10 with the Raiders. He was a defensive quality control coach, an outside linebackers coach and most recently the assistant defensive line coach. He previously worked with Bears outside linebacker Khalil Mack.
