While things are looking up for Celtic at the moment, with the club returning to the top of the Scottish Premiership, they have a big worry as well surrounding the injury situation of Kyogo Furuhashi. The Japanese star has arguably been their best player this season but has been struggling with fitness issues for a while and it goes without saying that fans are hoping to see him back as soon as possible.

Kyogo had originally been injured in the game against Real Betis in December and it was a mistake on the part of Ange Postecoglou to play him, with nothing riding on the result.

He would return in time to score a brace and guide Celtic to the Scottish League Cup, before picking up an injury again, the following week against St Johnstone on Boxing Day. The Japanese star has been out of action since.

There have been worrying rumours about the Japanese star having to undergo surgery and missing the rest of the season. And while not much has come out regarding his situation, there appears to be a major hint. Kyogo has been included in Celtic’s Europa Conference League squad, as on the UEFA website.

Kyogo included in Celtic’s Europa Conference League squad

Celtic will face Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League later this month. It remains to be seen whether Kyogo is back in time for that tie.

It must be pointed out though that while he has been included in the squad, someone who is fit to feature like Ismaila Soro has not been.

Thus, this does suggest that the club are hoping to have him back in action, which is a massive boost.

Kyogo has been an instant success at Celtic ever since arriving in the summer and they look like a much better side with him available.
