Female pedestrian, 34, killed early Monday on I-75 in south Marion County

A pedestrian was struck and killed early Monday on Interstate 75 in south Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol

FHP Public Affairs Officer Patrick Riordan said the crash happened about 1 a.m. The victim was identified only as a 34-year-old woman.

Riordan said the crash occurred near the 345 mile marker on southbound I-75. Three vehicles struck the woman.

The crash happened in the northbound lanes between County Road 484 (mile marker 341) and State Road 200 (mile marker 350.)

Riordan said the interstate was closed for a time as the patrol investigated.
