Two former Boston Bruins players took on a fitness challenge at TD Garden with first responders and others on Sunday.The Bruins and their team foundation hosted the 6th annual BFit Challenge, inviting first responders and people from all over New England to participate in a challenge course throughout TD Garden.The event raises awareness around health and wellness; celebrates the brave service of first responders; and raises money for first responder charities and organizations dedicated to first responders and military members.Former Bruins goaltender Andrew Raycroft and defenseman Adam McQuaid both participated in this year's BFit Challenge."It's just great to be a part of it," Raycroft said. "I love being part of the Bruins Foundation and proud to be part of the alumni, so any way I can come out and help, and give back a little bit, is a pleasure for me.""I was blown away last year with the step count and how everyone did virtually, so I'm expected to be challenged pretty good today," McQuaid said before the event.Raycroft won the 2003-04 Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL's Rookie of the Year, while McQuaid was a member of Boston's 2011 Stanley Cup championship team and is currently the Bruins player development coordinator.The BFit Challenge featured three separate divisions: Law Enforcement, Civilian and Fire and EMS. The top fundraising teams from each division and the overall highest fundraiser received prizes from the Bruins.
