“Here’s a quick thought experiment,” said the 57-year-old podcast host. “If AOC was fat and in her 60s, would anyone listen to another thing she ever said?”

“Oh boy. You’re going to step in that one,” replied Sean Hannity.

Carolla faced backlash on Twitter, where viewers described his remark as misogynistic and condescending.

"She's young, she's vibrant, she's beautiful and everyone's always putting a camera and a mic in her face," Carolla told Hannity. "But her opinions are idiotic 95% of the time, and I don't think if she was a middle aged, heavy-set woman anyone would care what she had to say."

Hannity challenged Carolla’s characterization of AOC and argued looks and youth alone wouldn’t be enough to command her level of influence in the Democratic party.

"You can criticize her ideas, and I do," said Hannity. "But she's got the whole Democratic party following her."

Carolla said he agreed with Hannity that AOC is powerful, but stood by his antagonistic take. “I'm just saying if she was fat and old, I don't think TMZ would be chasing her around with a camera."

Corolla hosts “The Adam Carolla Show,” a daily talk podcast. He was also one of the hosts for “The Man Show,” a raunchy Comedy Central variety program that ran from 1999 to 2004.
