Paul Douglas

Paul Joseph Douglas, 80, of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Central Florida Regional Hospital. He was born on July 17, 1941, in Morgantown, the son of the late Stephen and Bernice (Engle) Douglas.

Paul attended Morgantown High School. He was a member of Westside Senior Center, Rosedale Hunting Club and Masonic Lodge. He worked at West Virginia University as a maintenance worker.

His hobbies and passions included antique cars, oldies music, woodworking, playing chess, camping, cooking, fishing and hunting, along with spending time with his best friends, Denny and Narad.

He is survived by his loving wife, Retha (Hodges) Beller-Douglas; children, Paul Douglas Jr., Tim Marchant and wife Rhoda, of Independence, Paula Saurborn and husband, Jack, of Morgantown; grandchildren, Travis Marchant, Kali Marchant, Sara Varner, Spencer Marchant, Christine Cooper, Dustin Brown and Nathan Brown; great-grandchildren, Caroline Breland, Tenna Marchant, A.J. Flagg and Lillian Cooper; brother, Richard Douglas and wife Patsy, of Morgantown; and sister, Patricia Westerman, of Orlando, Fla.

In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his late wife, Carol Douglas; son, Bobby Marchant; daughter, Tina Marchant; sister, Joan Douglas; and brother, Steve Belec.

Friends and family will be received at Nicholson Chapel, Summers School Road, Morgantown, from
2-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7. Visitation will continue from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
