Finalists have been announced for the 2022 class of the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame, and Camden's own James Woods, owner and proprietor of Wood's Place, is among the finalists for proprietor of the year.

Arkansas Heritage launched the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame program in 2016 to recognize Arkansas's legendary restaurants, proprietors and food-themed events across the state.

More than 2,000 submissions were received from all 75 Arkansas counties for the sixth class of the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame. Arkansans rallied around their favorites by nominating during the month of October in the categories of Arkansas Food Hall of Fame; Proprietor of the Year; Food-Themed Event; People's Choice; and Gone But Not Forgotten.

"I'm honored to be in the same category with some pretty impressive chefs, managers and owners of restaurants," said Woods. "It's nice to be included in that little group. Not many people outside of Little Rock and Bentonville get in on that sort of thing, so it's kind of nice."
