Todd Cantwell has joined Bournemouth on loan from Norwich - the Cherries' fifth signing on deadline day.

Earlier in the evening, Siriki Dembele joined from Peterborough United and Cardiff City's Kieffer Moore signed on a deal thought to be worth up to £5m.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman and Liverpool defender Nat Phillips also signed on loan.

Midfielder Cantwell, 23, has made 110 appearances for the Canaries since 2018.

He joined Norwich as a youth player and has twice helped them win promotion to the top flight. He has scored 14 goals for the club.

This season Cantwell has made just eight appearances in the Premier League, mostly as a substitute, and will spend the rest of the campaign on the south coast.

Dembele, 25, has scored five goals in 24 appearances for Posh this season. The versatile striker and winger spent two years at Grimsby Town before joining Peterborough in 2018.

He signed for Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee, and like Moore his contract is three-and-a-half-years in length.

Phillips and Woodman, both 24, will hope to secure the Cherries' return to the Premier League after two seasons.

Liverpool will receive a loan fee of £1.5m for Phillips plus an additional £250,000 if Bournemouth are promoted.

Former England Under-21 international Woodman spent the past two seasons on loan at Swansea City.

He comes in as cover after Bournemouth goalkeeper Orjan Nyland suffered a calf injury.

Phillips was a target for a host of clubs during this transfer window, including loan offers from Premier League pair Newcastle and Leicester City.

He was understood to be hugely impressed with Bournemouth manager Scott Parker and the expectation is he will be a fixture in their side as they battle to go back up to the top flight.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of Phillips, who impressed in the injury absence of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez last season.

He signed a new contract in summer 2021 and the prospect of a loan fee plus Phillips getting regular game time, rather than being a squad player, persuaded Liverpool to give the move their approval.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Orjan Nyland has been released by Bournemouth with immediate effect.

The Norwegian, 31, joined in August on a free transfer but made just three appearances in all competitions.

Nyland recently suffered a calf injury and will continue to train with the club while he recovers.
