Bournemouth have signed Wales striker Kieffer Moore from Cardiff City in an undisclosed deal understood to be worth up to £5m.

Cardiff say Moore submitted a transfer request before owner Vincent Tan sanctioned the move.

Moore, 29, has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth made approaches for Moore earlier this month, and had initially enquired about taking him on loan.

However, Cardiff were only interested in a permanent deal for a player who has been an integral part of Wales' World Cup campaign, though has scored just five club goals this season.

Moore has not featured for Cardiff since being injured against Bournemouth a month ago amid plenty of speculation about a January move.

He will offer Scott Parker another option in attack as the Cherries target automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Moore joined Cardiff in August 2020 from Wigan for a fee of £2m. Last season he scored 20 league goal for the Bluebirds.

Cardiff signed striker Jordan Hugill from Norwich last weekend, and are also working on a loan deal for Middlesbrough frontman Uche Ikpeazu.
