'EXO IS 9': Chanyeol Sends Heartwarming Letters To All Members

Chanyeol is warming EXO-Ls' hearts as he writes eight letters dedicated to each of his fellow EXO members.

EXO Chanyeol Dedicates Handwritten Letters to Members

On January 29, EXO's main rapper and sub vocalist, Chanyeol, trended on social media after several fan accounts of the group shared on Twitter letters written by the EXO member to his eight members.

The letters, all of which were self-penned and written in Japanese, were part of EXO's Japan Official Book, where Chanyeol took this opportunity to share his love for Kai, D.O., Chen, Lay, Sehun, Suho, Baekhyun, and Xiumin.

In his letter to Kai, Chanyeol showed his affection by saying, "Kai, who I can learn a lot from. You may still look young and still much like a baby, but I like the Kai who suddenly presented his mature self. Let's continue to exercise a lot together!"

To the ever supportive D.O, he wrote, "Sometimes he is like a friend, sometimes he is like an older brother, sometimes he is like a younger brother. I am always thankful for D.O., who is always by my side. Next time, I will make you some pasta."

For the kindhearted Chen, Chanyeol says, "Chen, you are just like an angel and a man with a warm heart. Whenever I talk you, you are the person who laughs the most. I become happy when I see Chen enjoying them. I always want to see you."

To EXO's Chinese member Lay who is currently in China, Chanyeol wrote, "Musical genius Lay-hyung! I miss you a lot because we haven't seen each other recently. I miss the time when we used to play the guitar together. Let's play [the guitar] together again!"

In his letter to Sehun, Chanyeol kept it simple, saying, "There is a lot of things that I want to say to you, but I would rather not say it. I like you."

To EXO leader Suho, the rapper showed his gratitude by saying, "As our leader, thank you for always guiding us. Hyung's pieces of advice always give me so much strength. Fighting!"

For the easy-going Baekhyun, Chanyeol shows love for his good friend, and wrote, "Baekhyun who looks cute [on the outside], but is actually manly. I think I have always received good influence from you. Please stay as a good friend to me in the future as well. Let's have some fun again!"

And lastly, to the group's oldest member Xiumin, Chanyeol sweetly writes, "Our oldest [member] Xiumin hyung! Thank you for always giving support to our group. You are really such a cute and cool hyung!"

Following the sharing of his letters, EXO's fans, EXO-L, couldn't help but have their hearts warmed at the sweet letters, and gushed at the close relationship of Chanyeol with each of his fellow members.

Soon, "EXO IS 9" trended on Twitter, with Chanyeol proving all over again that when he's worn out, he holds tightly on to eight hands.

Meanwhile, Chanyeol is currently serving his mandatory military service since March 2021.

Prior to enlisting, Chanyeol starred in the musical road film "The Box" released in March of the same year.

While serving the army, Chanyeol also starred as the lead in the musical "Meissa's Song," alongside INFINITE L, B.A.P Daehyun and more.

Meanwhile, he and Baekhyun were also able to participate in EXO's latest special mini-album, "Don't Fight the Feeling," released in June, to celebrate their ninth debut anniversary.
