The IUP hockey team honored late coach Sam Kelly last night and then beat John Carroll University, erasing a 3-1 deficit to win in overtime 4-3.
IUP looked like a beaten team until the final minute of regulation. Indiana’s own Dom Glavach scored the game-tying goal with just 19 seconds remaining after Gavin Cummings had scored 24 seconds earlier, then Glavach scored the game-winner in OT.
Sam Kelly was inducted posthumously into the American College Hockey Hall of Fame, and his Hall of Fame plaque was presented to his wife Maryanne and his children before the game.
